WAPDA fail to pressurize pace-setters : draw 1-1 with HBL

Lahore, 11 December : National Champions Pakistan WAPDA lost the chance of getting leadership when they were held to 1-1 draw by Habib Bank Limited in the 179th match of Pakistan Premier Football League at Peoples Sports Complex, Mauripur Road, Lyari Town today. It was clash between two teams who were in top two of Pakistan in 1983 and 1991. It was 26th and final match for HBL who collected 30 points while WAPDA recorded 56 points from 25 matches.

HBL took the lead in the 15th minute when full back Amjad Yousof's header proved too tricky for keeper Abdul Aziz. But winger Qamar Zaman, also with header off Zulfiqar Shah's cross, neutralized the lead seven minutes later. It was 1-1 at interval a while second session produced no goal.
