The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) will host the 12th National U-14 Festival of Football from Feb 19 to March 4.

The venue for the event will be decided later. Sahiwal will defend their title. They had defeated the NWFP 1-0 when left-winger Rashid Noor fired the lone goal in the 56th minute of the match at Lahore’s Model Town Football Academy Ground.

PFF President Faisal Saleh Hayat has asked the PFF Operations Wing to discourage overage players as it was part of Youth Development Program to discover fresh talent for PFF’s future assignments.

Players born on or after Jan 1, 1996 are eligible to take part.

Teams which will take part in the competition include Northern Areas, FATA, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Islamabad and the four provinces.

The event will also help the PFF in making strong Pakistan U-14 squad which will take on Iran, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, India, Maldives, Afghanistan in the South Asian Zone of nine-nation AFC U-14 Festival of Football, which is scheduled to be held in Iran from May 10 to 23.
